consider a travel mat which combines a cutting mat with an ironing surface)
2. small travel iron.
3. Rulers - Two (2) rulers you will need are: ( # 1 - 6.5 x 24 inches and # 2 - is  6.5 x 6.5 inch ruler) if you want more rulers you may
4. Fabric scissors, small embroidery scissors.
5. straight pins - (Make sure your pins are at least 1.5 – 2″ NO LONG PINS).
6. one (1) heat disappearing marking pen, or a water disappearing marking pen.
7. seam ripper.
8.  1/4 inch sewing foot or regular sewing foot, which ever you use to get a accurate 1/4 inch seam
9. filled bobbins 2 - 3 each class - the bobbins work best the color of the thread you are going to use in sewing your quilt top and extra sewing machine needles.
10. Your purchased fabric ( see below ).
11. And of course your sewing machine in good working order with your power cord.
You will need to know how your machine operates

Fabric for your quilt: Please starch and press your fabric prior to class.
Washing fabric prior is your option. If you wash your fabric prior remember to put
several of the Color catchers in the wash to assist in fabric bleeding.

Fabric Requirements you will need to purchase and bring to class:

Fabric for piecing your blocks: 12-14 coordinating fabrics which is 1/4 yard each, you may also use some added fat quarter fabrics- coordinating fabric colors.

Background fabric - 1 yard of fabric - this is usually a solid color to coordinate/blend with the block fabric

Border/lattice fabric -  To be determined in class

Binding fabric - 1/2 yard of fabric

Backing fabric with batting - To be determined in class

Where fabrics are concerned the difference is quality which is the fabric weave.
High quality cotton starts with a superior product and is less likely to bleed when washed.

Thread - Highly recommend 100% cotton. Thread color is your preference
(If you choose a color of thread such as red or dark blue
this may bleed thru or show thru your beautiful quilt and you would
not want this to happen!)
one (1) spool of thread with 1000 yds
