Learn to Sew/Sewing Machine Basics (not Embroidery)




In this class you will learn how to operate (or get a refresher course) your sewing (not embroidery) machine.  It's a great way to get you back into sewing. You will also learn how to quilt the fabric to make the bag, put in the zipper, finish the raw edge of your fabric and complete the bag plus much much more.

What to Bring to Class:

1. Sewing Machine in good working order 

2. If available bring: Sewing Machine Instructional Manual, and all accessories that come  with your machine. (example: extra presser feet, power cord, foot control, machine bobbins, If you have a walking foot for your machine, bring it,.etc.) 

3. Scissors (small pair for cutting threads), also regular size fabric
    cutting scissors (usually 7 to 8 inch scissors) or you can purchase
    a beginning sewing kit from SCI that contains all the sewing tools you will need
    for future use.
4. 2 spools of thread (1 light yellow and one dark pink)
5. Seam ripper, tape measure, straight pens, heat away marking pen
4.  1/2 yd of fabric to practice with.   


Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: This class is for the very beginning sewers or if you are getting back into sewing and need a refresher course. Minimum Age: 14
